How To See The Real Venezuela
One night as I was returning to my hostel in Santa Marta, Colombia, I ran into a group of guys from Ireland who had just arrived from Venezuela. “How’d you guys like it?” I asked.
“It’s a very beautiful country,” one of the guys responded. “Just avoid Caracas. I never want to go back there again in my life.” This is the kind of the statement I’d been hearing before from people who’ve been, which probably accounts for why so few people make it to the rest of the country to see some of the most beautiful sights in the world.
As Hermione discovers, (not that Hermione — that’s be really cool though) to see the real wonders of Venezuela, head into the heart of the country to Canaima National Park for a glimpse of Angel Falls, the world’s highest waterfall, and the park’s famed table mountains.
Then make your way to Canaima lagoon where you can hang out at the beach and watch the three famed waterfalls slowly feed the giant sweet water lake around you.
