Which Croatian Island Should You Visit? Hint, It Rhymes With Gwar (I Think)
Home to vineyards, all-night discos and perfect swimming conditions, the Croatian island of Hvar (the capital, appropriately enough, is also named Hvar) is the longest and (supposedly) sunniest of the over 1,000 islands in the country.
A long-time visitor explained to the Telegraph that first-time visitors should make sure to head to “the little beaches you can only reach by boat and to the famous Blue Grotto where the brave even snorkel.”
A look at the official website lists the main economies on the island to be: tourism, wine-growing, aromatic plants, and olives and figs. Something tells me that if your main economies involve making wine, selling olives and figs, and hosting people wanting to visit your land, you’re living somewhere I want to see.
