Sleep With Francis Ford Coppola While In Buenos Aires

It’s no secret that famed director Francis Ford Coppola is a big fan of Argentina, Buenos Aires specifically. So much so that he now calls the country home; his next movie, Tetro (don’t worry, Sophia is not in it), was filmed in and is based in Buenos Aires; and he has even opened up his own boutique hotel, Jardin Escondido, in the heart of the swingin’ BA neighborhood, Palermo Soho, a venture he mentions in this T+A blip on why he loves Argentina.

Of course, the place looks amazing, but at $550 a night, I can’t help to think that the neighborhood’s changing a bit (when I was there I stayed at a hostel for around, oh, USD$5 a night). Of course, my hostel had a glaring lack of any Academy Award-winning directors staying there, so that makes a difference.
