The island of Bonaire is a mainstay in top 10 lists for the best diving in the Caribbean, with its favorably slow currents, 100-feet-plus visibility and massive variety of sea life (you’re able to see over 300 types of tropical fish here).
But did you also know that this Dutch island has a thriving sea salt industry, mountains of which are visible as you wander the island in those few hours spent above ground?
And for the no-frills types, don’t worry, golf courses and coconut shell drinks are nowhere to be found. I like that, they should think of making that their slogan.
