Heard About The Online Petition To Open Travel To Cuba?

It’s amazing the looks of incredulousness that Americans get when they tell others about the U.S.’s now 50-year-old ban on travel to Cuba.
This is America, land of the free that’s restricting travel to its own citizens? Doesn’t the ban just hurt poor, low-income Cubans who benefit most from tourism? Hasn’t the ban proved ineffective as a means to promote democracy given its existence for half a century? These are all the thoughts you can just see going through their heads as you tell them.
Well, things are starting to change a bit, and there’s this new online petition (logically sponsored by Orbitz) that’s out there trying to drum up support. You can visit the site and sign the petition here.
