Your Guide To Cheap Luxury In Southeast Asia

Now that the dollar is back on its seemingly inexorable decline against most world currencies, it’s about time for Americans (and East Timorians, Panamanians, etc. . . ) to start thinking again (as if they weren’t already) about those cheap destinations around the world where the dollar still gets some traction, like Southeast Asia.

If you’re planning on visiting the region, the Independent is offering up this list of the seven “best budget-luxury options in the region — from colonial villas in Malaysia to serene riverside bungalows in Laos,” all in the range of $20 – $30 for two. And in the meantime, invest in some euros.
