Nice article but you completely ingnored the Spanish shipwreck legend that Marguerite Henry documented in Misty of Chincoteague. In the book, The Hidden Galleon, The true story of a lost Spanish ship and the Wild Horses of Assateague Island, you will read about this legendary galleon called La Galga which ran ashore in 1750 and how the federal government is trying to keep secret its location buried beneath the island itself. The government has even sided with Spain to prevent any archaeological activity at he site. Read more at www.thehiddengalleon.com

I was excited to see that the Expeditioner was posting a piece about a domestic attraction. Great piece! You captured the relaxed atmosphere of the beautiful site.

I seem to recognize this author's name :)

Thanks for sharing Elaine. I didn't know about this park and am curious to go check it out next time I'm on the east coast. I can't say I've ever been peed on by a wild horse- that's reason enough to go, eh?
