Your article on the Whirling Dervishes was absolutely fascinating. My husband and I were fortunate to have seen the Dervishes on the Anniversary in 2007 of Mevlana although the performance was not at the Mevlana Museum but at a newly built stadium a short distance away. This is a tremendous look into the performance of whirling dervishes and, by far, the most comprehensive and educational article I have ever read about them. Since college when I first heard of whirling dervishes I had wanted to see them perform, and I recently did in Cairo. The show was not what I had really hoped for, though, and seemed to utterly lack authenticity. Konya – this is where I want to see whirling dervishes next.
