20 Unforgettable Images Of India
It was either Kierkegaard or Elvis Costello that once said, “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture — it’s a really stupid thing to want to do.”
Perhaps the same could be said of writing about India, a country so vast and diverse that no words could do it justice. With that in mind, it almost makes more sense to describe the country though pictures, as acclaimed photographer Gabriel Herman did on her recent two-week trek to India, which included stops in Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, and Goa.
By Gabriela Herman
Gabriela Herman was born in Newton, Massachusetts, and settled in Brooklyn, New York, after enriching her photographic palette through her many experiences living abroad. She learned to eat crepes in the cafes of France, get lost in the zocalos of Mexico, and dance samba in the streets of Brazil, all with camera in hand.
After college from Wesleyan University, with her dual US-Brazilian citizenship, she relocated to Sao Paulo for four years, where she pursued her long-standing passion for photography full-time, working for several acclaimed photographers in the process. Currently she is focusing on her personal projects and freelancing while immersing herself in the New York photography scene.
