A Call To Travel Photographers: Submit Your Shots For The Cover Of “The Expeditioner’s Guide To The World”

You may have heard whispers, the rumblings of the people, the rumors floating on the warm summer breezes. Let me be the first to confirm that, yes, this fall, October 1, 2010 A.D., TheExpeditioner.com will be making the leap from cyberspace into the wide world of print (and e-book). With over 30 great travel pieces from around the world, we have been scrambling the jets to create what we hope to be the first of many annual travel anthologies. And if you were wondering, the title of the book is going to be, “The Expeditioner’s Guide to the World: Intrepid Tales of Awesomeness from the Open Road.”

That being said, we have begun a quest to develop the greatest book cover that has ever existed. Ever. You know, one our grandchildren will talk about. This is where we bow out, realizing our readers are far more talented in the world of travel photography than we ever hope to be. Over at TheExpeditioner.com Flickr group, we have created an opportunity to submit your photograph(s) that best exemplify travel. Click here for the dedicated thread to submit your photos and to answer any further questions you may have. Please note that only photos submitted to the group pool will be considered for this opportunity.

You must own the rights to the photo and be willing to grant us the rights to use it for our cover shot. Please be aware, the image will likely be altered for stylistic purpose (color, cropping, etc . . .). If chosen, you will not only receive fame and glory, but also a complementary, signed, copy of the book, complete with the inclusion of the appropriate photo credit and accompanying short bio at the end of the book.

And remember, we are looking for shots that, as Luke said: “inspire a sense of imminent wonder.” We are anxious to see your submissions!
