From The Makers Of Planet Earth Comes Human Earth
What a week for British travel-related shows. First comes word of a Gervais-related travel show, then comes news of a Planet Earth sequel — excuse me, I’m trying to catch my breath as I type this — called Human Planet. For fans of the first installment, don’t worry, it’s all there. Authoritative British narration — check. Sweeping wide-angle shots of Central Asian plains — check. Concise, disyllabic, understated-as-only-the-English-can-do episode titles (Oceans, Deserts, Grasslands) — check.
Per the BBC, the show just started up this month in the U.K., but expect it to arrive later in the year on Discovery Channel.
