The World’s 100 Best Restaurants 2011

The list of the top 100 restaurants in the world was announced this week, and not surprisingly, Europe dominated the list, with over 70% of the top 50 (and Spain having 3 in the top 10). The list — compiled by Restaurant magazine from over 800 international restaurant industry experts — always draws criticism every year (so why exactly was Ferran Adrià’s El Bulli not on the list after being #1 last year? — click here for an explanation), but it helps to provide some suggestions for globetrekkers in search of some of the best food in the world.
Here’s how the top ten looks. For the full list, check out the official website.
1) Noma (Denmark)
2) El Celler De Can Roca (Spain)
3) Mugaritz (Spain)
4) Osteria Francescana (Italy)
5) The Fat Duck (England)
6) Alinea (USA)
7) D.O.M (Brazil)
8) Arzak (Spain)
9) Le Chateaubriand (France)
10) Per Se (USA)
