Here’s Why A Danish Company Wants To Reward People For Having Sex While Traveling
In what has got to be one of the best marketing ploys by any company so far this year, Denmark’s Spies Travel is attempting to capitalize on its country’s falling birth rate, which is currently at a 27-year low, by rewarding travelers for having sex while on vacation (Denmark currently ranks 190 out of 224 countries for its birth rate — not good for a country with a robust social welfare system).
To help encourage couples to increase their friskiness while on the road, Spies launched its Do It For Denmark contest, which will reward couples who get it on while on holiday. They simply need to send in a picture of their positive pregnancy test following their presumably productive vacation for a chance to win a 3-year supply of diapers, a state-of-the-art baby carriage and a future family vacation (including two children).
As detailed in the above video and on the contest’s site page, Danes apparently have 46% more sex while traveling, so there is some science going into this ploy. The contest page also has a helpful ovulation calculator to better plan the timing of one’s trip, as well as some useful tips on how to get pregnant (such as not using birth control, etc . . .)
If ever there was a time for Danes to show their patriotic fervor, this is it.
