Stories You May Have Missed: Week of October 11 Edition
• The Guardian is sponsoring a travel writing contest. Winners of each of the eight categories can win trips to everywhere from Machu Picchu to Everest. [The Guardian]
• The Singaporean budget carrier Scoot has begun offering child-free sections of their planes to those willing to pony up $14 for the “upgrade.” No word yet on whether they will also begin a person-next-to-you-not-allowed-to-bother-you section of the plane down the road. [ABC News]
• Did you know that Pinterest is the world’s most popular trip-planning site (according to Pinterest that is)? Pinterest recently revealed that there are 660 million pins in its travel category. [NBC News]
• Maui has rodeos, and cowboys, and even cows. The New York Times visited Maui to check out its little-known cowboy culture. [New York Times]
