I´m starting to get used to the Ox thing. It makes some sense. I´ve always felt a strong desire to hook myself up to a wagon and head towards the Wolamatt Valley, and this urge used to confuse me, even shame me, but now I see it´s just part of who I am.

I’m an ox, too. Kind of unaware, slightly naive, tripping often, but sure-footed enough not to fall (too often).

I wish there was a gorilla or elephant in the zodiac. That would be awesome.

I’ve read Troost’s Getting Stoned With Savages and dug it. Actually wrote an academic paper surrounding its cultural observations. If Planet China is along the same lines, I’m in.

Circle of life Katie. Crawler at least got to spend his last night in a cage instead of being alone in the wild.

In either case, I´m thinking about developing my own zodiac system where I will assign myself dinosaur or King Kong as my zodiac animal.

I’ve read The Sex Lives of Cannibals and thought it was pretty decent (once you get past the first chapter) – now I’ll have to check out the China one. That should be quite an amazing trip!! (Definitely could’ve done without the sad Hopper/Crawler story, though…)

Oh, and I just looked up my Chinese Zodiac sign, and it turns out I’m a dog. Well. That mean boy back in my freshman year of high school could’ve told me that. ;)
