It is still by far, my favorite show of all time, with Shameless (U.S.) coming in second……The characters were the best and can’t be matched…..I still think about the characters from time to time, and laugh in my head, when I when I reminisce on some memorable episodes. I still remember every character’s names..

Been a long time since anyone posted here…Sad thing… Northern exposure exposed me to a life that I had long since forgotten…basically since reading Call of the wild when I was a child. Even now, at the ripe old age of 54, and having spent an entire winter living in the “wild”,(an idea that was introduced to me by the introduction of “Adam” in the series Northern Exposure”.), There is nothing that “civilized society” has to offer that even comes close to actually living the experience…
I truly wish that more filmmakers would take the leap and create more masterpieces like Northern Exposure…I have watched the entire series,(I have it all on my computer…as well as backed up, so as to last me the rest of my life), numerous times…and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of every episode. I plan on facing the end of my life living as Adam did…no ties.. no regrets and no worries about things left undone.
If you have not had the privilege of watching this series yet…you are doing yourself a serious disfavor.

I love northern exposure…but this article was written so badly, like by someone really lame who thinks theyre a good writer but actually sucks really bad

In reply to Guest. It was worth it, but the fact that people who live there and work there refuse to acknowledge the show, tells you a lot about townspeople that won't celebrate anything different, or even know it existed. Just bring your imagination and don't talk to anyone.

I feel late to the party, stumbling onto this piece, but I loved that show while growing up.

The Simpsons taught me to never take life too seriously, but Northern Exposure taught me to be fair to people, to slow down and appreciate things, to seek out new perspectives, and gave me Chris Stevens’ love of quotes and good poetry.

It really was the greatest TV Show in American history, and reading about your experience in Rosalyn wasn’t half-bad, either.
