Very sorry to know what that extortionist taxi driver charged you. I believe your coming from Naia 1 and going to Green Mango Inn at BF Homes in Aguirre … Im used with taxi fares from Naia 3 to Sucat and usually its about Php200 to Php250 at this year 2014… unfortunately even for a local myself, there will be some cab drivers who would change their rates while you’re on the road and it really boils my temper but I would give in instead of being harmed… not all drivers are like that, if you have been to Davao City (Mindanao), they have one of the most honest cab drivers I have encountered – they would even give you your change no matter how big/small… There are so many other beautiful islands in the Philippines, not just Boracay and I hope you and your wife will still have a chance to visit this country and not encounter anymore problems. Thank you for the positive post about Boracay Island. :)

You probably arrived from the old Terminal 1. The newer Terminal 3 is a lot better.
Also, if Manila is just a stop-over to Boracay, I would recommend staying at the newly built inexpensive hotels near the Airport or Mall of Asia.
