A Travel Video Tribute To Rodger Swan [Video]

Friday, August 19, 2011

For those of you who haven’t heard the story, Rodger Swan was a college graduate living in Japan and teaching English over the course of 2009-2010. As many ESL teachers do, Roger started up a blog chronicling his time there — though his was a video blog called Tokyo Swan, which quickly began growing a dedicated following on YouTube. Sadly, Rodger died on January 27, 2010 in Hanamaki, Japan of internal bleeding into the abdominal cavity caused by acute pancreatitis.

Above is a video put together by a couple of Rodger’s friends who compiled footage from Rodger’s last videos as a tribute to the work he was doing and to memorialize him.

As a final tribute, his family has set up a memorial scholarship fund through his school at Western Michigan University. To donate and to learn more, visit the fund’s site here.
