Video: Tracking Caravans In Niger

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Holly Morris of Globe Trekker (whose mother wrote the biography that “Brian’s Song” was based) treks out into the deserts of Niger to track down one of the continent’s few remaining traveling caravans. I like how at 2:11 when Holly and her film crew finally come upon the caravan after God knows how long of […]

Video: World’s Deadliest Pool?

Friday, August 21, 2009

One of the highlights of visiting Victoria Falls in September during the “dry” season is the accessibility of Devil’s Pool, a 100-meter high natural pool formed as a result of a well-placed rock wall just below the surface.

Video: Sunday In The Plaza With Jose

Thursday, August 20, 2009

Located in Guanajuato in Central Mexico, Sunday in the central plaza of San Miguel De Allende means ice cream, fresh fruit, and most likely a parade, something this town is very good at doing. Often.

Istanbul And Greece, Together At Last

Thursday, July 23, 2009

Something about travel videos sped up really does it for me. Perhaps especially suited for those with ADD? Anyway, this video of Istanbul has some amazing shots. Be sure to check out the crazy fireworks show at 0:48. But even not sped up, Greece still looks amazing. It’s hard to screw up Greece though, isn’t […]

Travel Meets Music Videos, The World Is A Better Place

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Glasgow’s own Camera Obscura has this new travel-themed music video out (remember those?), which features the bearded-nerdy-guy-and-model-girlfriend-travel-Europe motif (see “2 Days In Paris“). Nice shots of Paris, Barcelona, and Rome. The only part that made me cringe was the “Where The Hell Is Matt” reference at 2:08. Sigh.

Victoria Falls From A Helicopter (Is There Any Other Way?)

Thursday, July 2, 2009

This video was taken in May, during the wet season, one of the best times of the year to visit Victoria Falls (plan now!). Check out the unforgettable views from the helicopter at 0:48 if you want to become completely enamored with the thought of traveling there.

TheExpeditioner Travel Guide to Dublin, Ireland (Part Two)

Sunday, June 14, 2009

In Part Two of my travel guide to Dublin, Ireland, I head off the beaten path to get a better sense of the city. I begin by checking out an international graffiti festival featuring artists from around the world. Later, I take in some traditional Irish music at a private show in my hostel, then […]

TheExpeditioner Travel Guide To Dublin, Ireland (Part One)

Sunday, June 7, 2009

Dublin is one of the world’s most popular travel destinations, and a few days spent there shows why. In Part One of my travel guide to Dublin, I tour the city’s number one attraction, the Guinness Storehouse, go in search of the bar that serves the best pint, visit prestigious Trinity College, and head out […]
