Reading, travel blogging, and Spanish lessons were all good ways to pass the time, but sometimes you take for granted how much having a daily routine back home fills the time. I still wouldn’t trade it for the world, but when volunteering in a hostel while traveling, all the empty days sure add up to a lot of free time! I think the key is feeling like you are doing things that give you purpose, otherwise when traveling sometimes the vast expanse of endless free time can seem pointless.
