Here’s How You Can Win $100,000 To Live On A Caribbean Island

I can think of worse things to happen to me than being stranded on a desert island in the Caribbean for a couple weeks, especially if during those two weeks I was marooned with someone who knows a thing or two about how not to die while there, like Survivorman’s Les Stroud.

I know, I know, you’re thinking to yourself: Really, Les Stroud would be your choice for a two-week Caribbean island getaway over, say, Kate Upton or Tiffani-Amber Thiessen circa 1993? But let’s think this through. Stroud is a guy that chooses to live off-the-grid by choice, and who spent his honeymoon living a paleolithic lifestyle in the Canadian wilderness. You think Upton or Kelly Kapowski are going to be much use providing you advice on which mollusk you’re about to eat for dinner won’t kill you, and which one is going to send you into paralytic shock? I don’t think so.

To help you achieve your dream of a true desert island experience (and one you’ll actually survive), Samsung has teamed up with Stroud for the SOS Island: Survival of the Smartest contest, where 16 contestants will be flown to the Caribbean for one week to conduct survival training with him (along with a Galaxy S4 Zoom and and their newly announced Galaxy NX camera in tow to record the experience).

Eight of the contestants will then be chosen and moved to a desert island where they will be paired into teams of two to compete in survival challenges. In true reality show-style, viewers will have a chance to watch the live broadcast, interact with the contestants, and ultimately vote for their favorite team (via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), with the winner walking away their very own private island living experience worth $100,000.
