It’s As If Travel Channel Was Daring Me To Watch Them Less

Really Travel Channel, a travel show starring Bret Michaels and focused on RVs? It’s as if you’re actively seeking ways to get me to watch your channel less, especially in the wake of Mr. Bourdain’s exodus to CNN.

Are there really no other travel enthusiasts, personalities, writers, explorers, cultural icons, luminaries or former ’80s hair band frontmen that you could think of to host an interesting, insightful show about travel and the fascinating, ever-shrinking world that we live in than Bret Michaels of Rock of Love fame?

And to top it off, the “travel” theme that you are focusing on is RVs? Were you looking for the most protective way to travel the world? Could you think of no better way to isolate your host than to shut him off in an enclosed, self-supporting hunk of metal with what I assume will be home to Mr. Michael’s bodacious 50-inch plasma TV screens, Natural Light-stocked mini-fridge, various anti-balding scalp creams and killer sound system?

Per the channel’s page for the show: “Michaels, a hands-on enthusiast, leads a team of skilled, custom RV designers and fabricators who transform travelers’ ordinary RVs into the most outrageous, badass, hooked-up mobile mansions on the road.”

No thanks, I would rather watch Guy Fieri’s take on travel than this, and that is saying a lot.
