Spring Break In Iceland? Yes, Please
Ahhh, Iceland in March, does it get any better than that?
Well, no, not really. And though Iceland may not come out on top of most lists for favorite places to jet off to for spring break, the island nation in the North Atlantic is actually an amazing place to visit any time of the year, especially given the fact that when you fly Icelandair you can have a layover there for up to seven days for no additional cost.
This great video comes from Dresden-based Janis Brod, who shot this beautiful video (with a Nikon D800) while in Iceland for two weeks in March, 2014. Featuring breathtaking images of volcanic activity, pristine waterfalls, the Northern Lights, Scandinavian horses, Game of Thrones-like vistas, and an unrivaled view of the winter night sky like no other, if this video doesn’t get you excited for travel to Iceland, nothing will.
And according to Shazam, the song playing in the background is from the artist Nora, which sounds suspiciously like Sigur Rós, which is probably based upon the fact they are the only other band I’ve heard sing in Icelandic (I’m only familiar with Bjork’s English-language oeuvre).
