One of the main conundrums for travel bloggers is this: if you’re traveling you’re not on the computer, thus, not much of a blogger. This would be a pretty accurate description of my stay so far in Barcelona. Between the immense amount of everything — tapas, world-class architecture, people, great wine — there has been little time for the computer.<\/p>\n

But I thought I’d at least get in a short post before I take my now usual Spanish 8 p.m. siesta (it’s tough when the night gets going around 12:30). <\/p>\n

I visited ParK Guell this afternoon, Gaudi’s masterpiece park built when, presumably, he became a little bored designing buildings for the city’s rich and famous. The great thing about the park is that it is beautiful down at the base where all the famous Gaudi architecture is, but for the little more adventurous you can hike up the rest of the park — the 80% that makes up the park that Gaudi didn’t design.<\/p>\n

Then, if you’re really adventurous, and you’re looking for one of the best views of the city, you can trek straight up an unmarked path that, frankly, I’m not sure you’re supposed to climb. I climbed it. At the top was an Italian ex-waiter named Mario who was there writing in his journal. Mario took my picture. Then we both discussed how we hoped the Spanish police wouldn’t mind.
