For us in the northern hemisphere, the cooler mornings mean winter’s right around the corner. Every year at this time, I’m bombarded with visions of chest deep powder runs through Rocky Mountain champaign, followed quickly by après beers turned all night jam fests. Needless to say, I couldn’t be more excited to share this Times article outlining the top ten winter parties around the world.

Party hopping can get tricky, though. How do you choose between a three day comedy festival in the Alps, igloo raves, and hanging out with up and coming rock stars? Decisions, decisions.

Given the choice, I would most likely end up at the “greatest show on snow,” the Snowbombing festival in Mayrhofen, Austria. According to its website, Snowbombing is an, “exhilarating week-long whirlwind of momentous moments in mythical fairy-tale venues, delivered by a blizzard of brilliant bands.” A music festival and winter sports in the Alps… I’m sold.

Sadly enough, the “momentous moment” that didn’t make the list, was my backyard grill on the last day of the ski season. Perhaps next year.
