These past few months I got to spend some time with two of the most down-to-earth, talented photographer friends. We decided to venture outside: eating dinner around backyard patio furniture, fleeing the city for weekends at cottages, frolicking in Autumnal leaves of inner-city parks and what we discovered was beauty all around.<\/p>\n

We live to the beat of the city drum: Stop. Go. Never yield. Walk fast. If not, drive. We sometimes travel to the destination as our fixture and we go forth with blinders.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sometimes, we look backwards. We are reminded of sweet grass and bushy trees that cover our shadows instead of the high-rise pillars. It stirs our awe of beauty and lets our feet touch ground.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But, if we removed the blinders, we can find beauty in destruction. We can find that field of earthly dreams in the decay of consumption.<\/p>\n
