Klezmer Band Plays Set For Delayed Airplane [Video]
When Air Canada Flight AC 876 was delayed for 20 minutes last week, Lemon Bucket Orkestra — a klezmer band on board that was en route to Europe for a summer tour using funds they earned from busking on the street — decided to break out their instruments and treat the packed plane to an impromptu set of four songs. (Well, I suppose the word “treat” depends on your taste of music.)
I don’t want to generalize here, but I can’t say that this would’ve come as much of a surprise for me if I was on that flight. I mean, come on, if I was sitting in the middle seat with a gentleman with a green mohawk clutching a violin on one side of me, and another guy with a ponytail who looks like my 7th-grade art teacher fingering a penny whistle on my other side, I think I would’ve expected a live performance at some point during the flight.
